Apart from just relaxing on the beach, or in the shade of the Alandra courtyard, Melaque and the surrounding area offer many activities.

• Fishing
- the waters around Melaque are rich in fish and other sea life, attested by the rich tradition of fishing which still goes on in this long-time fishing community. • Walking/hiking/bicycling/etc
- Getting around the town is a walking acivity - it is level and small;
- Mountain bikes are for rent from Folkart Xcalli, Hidalgo 62;
- A hiking trail, Andador Punta Melaque, extends north along the coast.
- Cars can be rented from Manzanillo airport

• Tours
Either take the cheap and regular bus service to visit such places as Colima, Manzanillo, Puerto Vaillarta, or take advantage of tours from:
